Marie’s Mission by the Numbers

On Saturday January 16th, the Mission went back to a modified indoor distribution. We had a pass through set up this month allowing people to enter the hall from the side and walk by our tables through the hall and out the front door. We distributed 120 Packages of diapers and wipes to 52 families!  The most popular sizes this month were 4T-5T pull-ups, we gave out 30 packages (15 boys and 15 girls).   We gave out 15 packages of size 6 we gave out 14 packages of size 3 We also distributed 9 packages each of Size 5 and Size 7.

Our distribution day included our regulars along with a group from UMass Medical School

“Cold Weather Gear”

Our UMass volunteers distributed 62 sets of hats and mittens along with information on cold weather protection for babies.

Marie’s Mission Snacks-to-go

In lieu of our usual snack set-up the Mission continues to provide brightly colored snack bags to-go filled with kid friendly snacks like granola bars and fruit gummies.  We gave out 89 bags for children and 28 for babies which include apple sauce and rusks for our teething guests.

Literacy Program

The MM literacy program continues under the leadership of Tom Galvin and his assistant James Galvin.  They have designed two reading packets one for ages 0-3 and one for children 4-6. This month we distributed 40 of the 0-3 packets and 29 to the 4-6.

Donations

In January we received of 3210 diapers from a fund raiser at Christ Church in Rochdale.
