Marie’s Mission by the Numbers

On Saturday October 19th, the Mission distributed an all-time record number 146 Packages of diapers and wipes to 69 families!  We had 10 new families join us. We also provided 20 tubes of Diaper cream

Our Helpers

Our distribution day included many of our regulars along with volunteers from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), UMass Medical School and the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at MCPHS.

Diaper Time is Talk Time

Our friends from the DAR handed out 60 board books and 40 flash cards as we continue to promote the importance of talking to and reading to young children. We recently shared many ideas with National Diaper Bank members through their webinar “School Readiness Starts with a Diaper Change”.

October Extras

The UMass Medical students helped with the distribution of 97 costumes and glow sticks while talking with parents about Halloween Safety.

Students from the Forsyth retuned to the Mission and talked about dental health for young children (particularly good topic at Halloween) and distributed goodie bags of dental supplies.

What we need

The most popular sizes this month were again 4T-5T pull-ups, we gave out 31 (11 boys and 20 girls). We also distributed 26 packages of size 6 and 25 size 5.  Looking forward to December we are planning to distribute pajamas again we will be posting a list of needed sizes.
