Marie’s Mission by the Numbers

On Saturday December 15th, the mission distributed 96 packages of diapers and wipes to 48 families!  This brings the total number of packages distributed to 1,169 that equals 35,070 diapers in 2018.

Our Helpers

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers we were able to provide a wonderful time for all our guests.

Little Extras

Thanks to the generous donations of many friends of the mission most notably Mary and David Kalmanovitch we were able to offer “Christmas” pajamas for our guests.  Paul Bowler once again sat in for Santa and posed for many beautiful pictures with the children. Julia Bourque and her family donated supplies and helped the children make frames for their pictures with Santa. Kelly-ann Deary kicked off phase one of our new literacy program with a reading of Clement Moore’s The Night Before Christmas.

What we Need

Our biggest demand as always is for sizes four (4), five (5) and six (6) we gave out 23 packages of size six (6) we also distributed 14 packages 4T-5T pull-ups.

January Plans

For our next distribution on January 19th we are planning to add another piece to our literacy program by offering board books and starting our “Diaper Time is Talk Time” program an early reading program (with material provided by the Nation Diaper Bank Network).  Please consider donating one or  two board books to the Mission. A variety of these are available at the Dollar Tree.

Amazon Wish List

For an easy way to donate diapers go to Amazon and search for Marie’s Mission Wishlist.  Also, there is a link available on our webpage at mariesmission.org.

Thanksgiving Church

We had our third Thanksgiving Church following the mission distribution.  This is a wonderful service particularly for young children, offering a kid friendly lunch, music, and prayers. The service is open to mission volunteers, parishioners, and any of our Marie’s Mission guests who would like to join us.
