Marie’s Mission by the Numbers

On Saturday August 15th, the Mission Began a modified indoor distribution.

We had a pass through set up (complete with directional arrows thanks to James Galvin) that allowed people to enter the hall and walk by our tables. We distributed 153 Packages of diapers and wipes to 65 families!  We had 4 new families join us. We also provided 37 tubes of Diaper cream. The most popular sizes this month were 4T-5T pull-ups, we gave out 37 (19 boys and 18 girls). We also distributed 20 packages of Size 4 and 21 packages of both Size 5 and size 6.

Our Helpers Our distribution day included regulars along with a group from UMass Medical School including returning and new volunteers.

“Back to School” MM modified is usual back to school backpack distribution and substituted basic school supplies to assist students in their virtual return to school this fall. Students got notebooks, pencils crayons, glue sticks, erasers, and pencil sharpeners to help them set up a home classroom for the fall.

Marie’s Mission Snacks-to-go In lieu of our usual snack set-up the Mission continues to provide brightly colored snake bags to go filled with kid friendly snacks like granola bars and fruit gummies along with rusks for our teething guests.. We gave out over 100 of these bags to our guests this month alone.

Looking Forward Marie’s Mission was received many generous donations along with two new Grants.  We are  planning several fund raising activities for the future, starting the announce of some community partnership events coming during Diaper Needs Awareness Week September 21 through September 27.
